A fishing pole is a simple and traditional type of fishing gear, typically used for pole fishing. Unlike modern rods with reels, a fishing pole does not have any mechanical parts, and the line is tied directly to the tip of the pole. It is commonly used for freshwater fishing and is ideal for catching smaller fish like carp, bream, and perch.

Key Features of a Fishing Pole

  • No Reel : Fishing poles are reel-less, meaning that the line is tied directly to the pole's tip, making it a basic but effective tool for certain types of fishing.
  • Length : Fishing poles are typically long, ranging from 3 to 16 meters (10 to 52 feet), which allows anglers to reach far into the water without needing to cast.
  • Lightweight Materials : Traditional fishing poles were made from bamboo or wood, but modern versions are often constructed from materials like fiberglass or carbon fiber for improved strength and flexibility.
  • Elastic System (Optional) : Some modern fishing poles use an internal elastic system to provide more flexibility and help absorb the shock when fighting fish.

Advantages of Fishing Poles

  • Precision Fishing : Fishing poles allow for precise placement of the bait, especially in still water or near obstacles like vegetation, making it easier to catch fish that are hiding close to the shore.
  • Quiet and Gentle : Since there is no casting, the bait enters the water quietly, which reduces the chance of scaring fish away, especially in calm waters.
  • Simple and Easy to Use : Fishing poles are beginner-friendly due to their simplicity, making them great for novice anglers or children.
  • Cost-Effective : Since they lack a reel and other moving parts, fishing poles are often more affordable than other types of fishing gear.

Ideal Use Cases

  • Freshwater Fishing: Perfect for ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams, especially when targeting smaller species like roach, carp, and perch.
  • Float Fishing: Fishing poles are ideal for float fishing, where a small bobber or float is used to indicate when a fish takes the bait.

Overall, fishing poles offer a simple and effective way to fish, especially for those who prefer a more traditional, hands-on approach. They are particularly useful in calm, freshwater environments where precision and quiet presentation are key.

All right.

I had the model 1,50m which had blown me away on beautiful breams, chevenes and gardons, which is why I recommended three models in 1,80m for Knife son. I haven't tested them yet, I hope to have the same quality. Flexible as possible with a nice carbon reaction, which just clampers down the fight with beautiful nervous fish like chevenes. Perfect. By account once again they Summer delivered to me in a simple envelope to bubble.
